Welcome....

...and thank you for dropping in. This site is first and foremost a personal site to keep friends and relatives informed of what I am doing, and of what is going on in my neck of the woods.

My main interest is traveling and birding, but I also like running. The links above should be pretty self-explanatory, feel free to explore.

I value any comments, criticisms, and suggestions you may have, drop me a line at hannostamm(at)hannostamm.com.

Latest update:

The Taiwan Trip Report is finally up and running. It is fairly extensive and might take a few seconds to load.

What, it's all about birds then, is it then???

Admittedly, my main interest is birding. However, even the non-birder should find plenty of interest here, as I try to give information on as many aspects of my trips as I can.

When traveling, I do like a good feed and a cold brew, there is usually information on that as well. Keep in mind that things change though, don't come crying to me if the beer was 5 Cents more expensive than what I said it was in my report.

On the birding page you will also find a link to general information on traveling in Vietnam, or you can get there directly by following this link:

:: Latest Trip Report::: Off the Beaten Track in Vietnam:::Photo Galleries:

Taiwan was a blast. Apart from what was until recently the tallest building in the world, we had Typhoons, great food, and lots of birds.

It is actually pretty easy to escape the hordes in Vietnam, as most people just follow the standard itinerary. Here is a trip that Ha and I took to Ca Mau.

The Galleries are, once again, often biased towards birding, but not exclusively so. They do actually cover a wide range of subjects, from culture to the latest exploits of the Can Tho Hash House Harriers (if you don't know who, or what, the Hash is, follow the link on top).

This is probably going to get updated whenever I have time, and feel like it. Haven't really decided yet if I will stick to a particular topic or just ramble along.

Since I moved to Phan Thiet, I have temporarily ceased to Hash. Watch this space, there is a good chance that there will be a Hash in Phan Thiet soon.

For a full list, check the Links page, below a link that I recently stumbled upon, and/or which I particularly like.

Birding in Vietnam

Run by the BirdLife International Vietnam Program, this is an excellent introduction to the better bird watching sites in Vietnam.
